Cherokee Nation Mechanical supports historic US Army Garrison and expands construction capabilities
Cherokee Nation Mechanical (CNM) recently won a five-year construction contract valued at $50 million to provide support to a historic U.S. Army Garrison in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Through the contract, CNM will perform construction and renovation project services, including installing new equipment and restoring existing test facilities and buildings, in support of the garrison’s mission requirements and military testing program.
Some of the structures that CNM will repair were constructed at the turn of the century. These historically significant structures will support new mission requirements from their original function. Today, this garrison is responsible for numerous technical achievements in military intelligence, medical research, engineering and computer technology.
“We’re honored to continue to provide support for our military through this important project that will support their mission,” said Roy Fazio, executive general manager and president of Cherokee Federal construction service line. “This gives our team the opportunity to restore facilities and testing sites that are key to our military’s strength and ingenuity.”
This contract also signals a shift in CNM’s core capabilities. CNM’s work up to this point has been in self-performing HVAC and plumbing services for clients. With this contract, CNM enters a new space of general construction.
“Our team is looking forward to providing a full spectrum of services of general construction and renovation under this contract,” said Bill Owens, operations general manager of CNM. “We’re not only growing as a company, but we are also assisting the Army with important research of future weapons systems.”
Cherokee Nation Mechanical is part of Cherokee Federal’s $60 million construction business line, which includes four additional companies, each with a unique set of capabilities. CNM provides quality control, cost management, attention to safety, and schedule adherence for a full spectrum of construction projects. This company manages every aspect of projects – from design and planning to contracting.
